The commitment to inclusive higher education was reaffirmed during the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Strengthening Disability Service Units (ULD) for Higher Education, organized by the Pijar Foundation at its office in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on September 19, 2025.The forum, held from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. WIB, was attended by various stakeholders, including key representatives from Portadin—Nefrijanti (Head of Education Division, DPP Portadin) and Nur Indah Harahap (Chair, DPD Portadin Bekasi).
During the FGD, Pijar Foundation announced that its collaborative project with the Nippon Foundation will commence in April 2026. The project will focus on raising public awareness about inclusion (Public Inclusive Awareness), strengthening human resource capacity, and developing support systems within universities, government bodies, and disability organizations.
“Portadin’s participation represents a concrete step from the disability community to ensure that universities in Indonesia become increasingly inclusive. This cross-sector collaboration is expected to pave the way for a more welcoming and equitable higher education environment for all,” said one of the FGD facilitators.
With the presence of Nefrijanti and Nur Indah Harahap, Portadin strengthens its position as a strategic partner in policy advocacy and the development of inclusive education. This article first uploaded by Marka Berita
