Townhall Muda Yogyakarta 2025: Youth as Drivers of Innovation and Policy

A total of 400 young people from various regions actively participated in Townhall Muda Yogyakarta 2025, an online forum that encourages youth involvement in entrepreneurial innovation and public policy.
The event was organized by MUDA30, Global Future X, Pijar Foundation, and CHUB FISIPOL UGM, with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Bappenas, Disdikpora DIY, and the Pertamina Foundation, on Wednesday, September 4, 2025.
Joko Susilo, Coordinator of Townhall Muda Yogyakarta – Entrepreneurship Innovation, emphasized the importance of supporting young people in the policymaking process.
Also present were Rahajeng Amaragati Aryono (Pijar Foundation) and Dr. Wawan Mas’udi (Dean of FISIPOL UGM), who highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing inequality and economic disruption.
Carrying the theme “Youth Entrepreneurial Innovation,” the forum featured a series of sessions including a Talk Show, Policy Forum, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and Policy Aspirations segment.Participants discussed issues such as access to funding, MSME development, and the strategic role of youth in national planning documents.
One participant, Ferdi from IAIN Bengkalis, expressed appreciation for the forum, calling it “a rare space to voice the realities faced by young people outside Java.”
