Health Innovation Showcase 2026 Highlights 11 Health Tech Innovations, Fostering Collaboration to Accelerate Digital Transformation

Jakarta, 27 October 2026 – The Indonesian Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Pijar Foundation, held the Health Innovation Showcase 2026 in Jakarta on Monday (26 October). Supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs through the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub (GSIH), as well as Amazon Web Services (AWS), the event marked the culmination of the Innovation Sandbox testing initiative under the Ministry of Health's 2025–2026 Health Sandbox programme.
Indonesia's Vice Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, highlighted how the Health Sandbox has continued to evolve since its launch in 2023, expanding beyond a regulatory testing environment to become a platform for nurturing health technology innovation.
“Through the Health Sandbox, innovators can develop and test their solutions in a controlled environment, with guidance from the government and experts, to ensure that their innovations are safe, effective, and ready for further development. I encourage all innovators to remain committed to quality, safety, and patient data protection. Ultimately, the success of an innovation should be measured by the tangible benefits it delivers to the public through healthcare services that are more accessible, reliable, safe, and efficient,” said Dante.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, emphasised the importance of digital infrastructure and data governance in supporting the development of health technology innovations.
“The adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, in healthcare must be accompanied by robust security standards and appropriate risk mitigation measures. We are dealing with highly sensitive and critical health data, while the risks associated with these technologies can directly affect human safety. This is why the Health Sandbox plays such an important role in testing innovations, ensuring that the technologies being developed are not only beneficial but also safe for real-world implementation,” explained Nezar.
Pijar Foundation's Commitment to Strengthening Indonesia's Health Innovation Ecosystem
As a strategic partner of the Health Sandbox programme, Pijar Foundation supports the development of health technology innovations by providing comprehensive mentorship and technical assistance to innovators participating in the Innovation Sandbox. This support focuses on strengthening the feasibility of their concepts and technologies, conducting limited functional testing, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and refining their products and business models.
Cynthia Krisanti, Director of Innovation at Pijar Foundation, noted that while Indonesia faces significant healthcare challenges, these also present opportunities for stakeholders to collaborate and develop innovative solutions.
“Indonesia faces substantial healthcare challenges, but these also create tremendous opportunities to develop solutions through collaboration. We commend the achievements of the 11 health technology innovators who have received recommendation letters from the Ministry of Health. This milestone demonstrates the potential of innovation to address the diverse healthcare needs of communities across Indonesia,” said Cynthia.
Pijar Foundation's commitment to strengthening Indonesia's digital innovation ecosystem is further reflected in the designation of Jakarta Future Community Space (JFCS) by Pijar Foundation as Spoke 4 within the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub (GSIH) network, an initiative led by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
Through its hub-and-spoke model, Garuda Spark connects digital talent, startups, communities, industry players, and investors, expanding access to mentorship, professional networks, and opportunities for innovation development. JFCS's involvement reflects Pijar Foundation's broader efforts to foster cross-sector collaboration and strengthen connections within Indonesia's digital innovation ecosystem.
The innovators featured at the Health Innovation Showcase 2026 have undergone testing in a controlled environment to demonstrate the feasibility of their solutions. By bringing together government representatives, hospitals, investors, and industry partners, Pijar Foundation aims to strengthen the development of health innovations and create opportunities for their wider adoption across the healthcare sector.
Health Innovation Showcase 2026
A total of 11 health technology innovators who successfully completed the Innovation Sandbox testing process presented their solutions and products at the Health Innovation Showcase 2026. They have also been recommended by the Ministry of Health to obtain Health Technology Innovation Registration Certificates (Tanda Daftar Inovasi Teknologi Kesehatan, or ITK). The 11 innovators are Aurelif, Curalis, Fellas.ID, Health BETA, Kibicare, ONWARD Health Research, RespiraHub, SatuSehatConnect, Serenic.ai, JagaHealth, and Temucita.
Their innovations span a wide range of healthcare applications, including AI-powered healthcare services, early disease screening, elderly care, mental health services, clinical research, and healthcare system integration.
The Health Innovation Showcase 2026 featured an executive masterclass and capacity-building session focused on four key dimensions of innovation readiness: product development, regulatory compliance, partnerships, and scaling up. The programme also included pitching sessions, where innovators presented their solutions and potential impact, alongside an exhibition that allowed visitors, prospective partners, and investors to explore the innovations firsthand.
The event concluded with an interactive dialogue and cross-sector networking session, bringing together innovators, government representatives, healthcare providers, industry leaders, investors, and academics. These discussions created opportunities for partnerships, technology adoption, and investment, helping pave the way for the continued development and broader implementation of health technology innovations across Indonesia.
