Tokyo, 4 December 2025 – In a global landscape marked by mounting fragmentation and accelerating technological change, cross-sector collaboration has become increasingly vital to shaping a more inclusive and resilient future of work. Pijar Foundation participated as a featured panelist at the Asia Philanthropy Congress (APC) 2025, an annual convening of philanthropic leaders across Asia hosted by The Nippon Foundation, with support from AVPN, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), and the Social Innovation and Investment Foundation (SIIF).

This year’s Congress carried the theme “Philanthropy’s Role in a Fragmented and Uncertain World”, reflecting the urgency of strengthening cooperation to address inequality, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and the multidimensional challenges facing communities across the region. Since its inception in 2022, APC has served as a key platform for foundations and philanthropic actors to co-create solutions that respond to rapidly evolving societal needs.

Pijar Foundation joined a high-level breakout discussion titled “Catalyzing Human Potential: The Role of Partnerships in Shaping the Future of Work”, presented alongside representatives from the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), AVPN, and Biti’s. Held at the Le Grand Hall of the InterContinental Tokyo Bay, the session explored the structural shifts transforming Asia’s labor markets, the widening green–digital competency gap, and the importance of long-term human capital investment, as outlined in the Congress briefing deck .

Representing the Pijar Foundation, Cazadira Fediva Tamzil, Executive Director, emphasized the need to center young people, particularly those outside major urban areas, in efforts to build a more equitable future of work. She noted that youth across Asia face both unprecedented opportunities and heightened risks as artificial intelligence, automation, and sustainability transitions reshape the region’s workforce.

“For us, the most important thing, especially in a fast-moving country like Indonesia, is that working with the government is critical. They have sustained public budgets, they can adopt different models of innovation within society, and they can integrate those models into their program and budget planning. That’s why providing early information to the government about what we are trying to do, and aligning it with their priorities, is very important.” Cazadira stated.

She also highlighted Pijar Foundation’s efforts to strengthen the readiness of Indonesia’s next-generation workforce, including through its collaboration with Temasek Foundation on the Future Talent Hub, an initiative designed to bridge the gap between higher education and the demands of a rapidly transforming labor market.

Pijar Foundation’s participation in APC 2025 reaffirms its commitment to expanding regional conversations on talent development and inclusive innovation, and to strengthening platforms that prepare youth to thrive amid complex global transitions. This reflects its role as an open and collaborative ecosystem builder. Over the years, Pijar Foundation has worked alongside a diverse range of partners, from industry and philanthropy to government and academia, to advance shared agendas in talent development and inclusive innovation. This commitment to partnership remains central to Pijar Foundation’s efforts to equip youth to excel in the future.
